Karapaloza will be May 14th at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, Powerline Road between 10th Street and Hillsboro Blvd. (both are exits on 95).
The benefit is from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. All proceeds from the raffle to benefit ARDS Foundation in memory of Kristen Southon, whose young life was ended too early.

Kristen's story will be online soon but it is interesting that I had mentioned the issue of ARDS & pregnancy and i just leanred that Kristen was a little over four months pregnant.
She had a kidney stone, subsequent infection, and then ARDS. Her story, the loss of her young life and that of her child, saddens me so.
We heard from Thomas and he told us the the benefit was a great success and that over $800.00 was raised in Kristen's memory.
To do this so soon after his daughter's death is so amazing. But Thomas wanted to do something in her memory, something positive, and something that will in the future help to effectuate change.
Here is what he said:
"On my last birthday before Kristen passed away she gave me a card and inside of the card she wrote "Dad, I know I may have never told you before but, you have always been my Hero". So with that I made a dedication to Kristen just before a sang and sang the song "Hero" by Enrique Inglesas (I know I spelled his name wrong) as a tribute to her. It was by far the hardest thing I ever done. I could not look at anyone while I sang, especially my wife. Anyway, I managed to finish the song and then walk of stage before breaking down."
